Buford the Dog needs a home
Buford is a very handsome tricolor 10 year old Treeing Walker Coonhound, about 50 lbs. He looks and moves like a much younger dog. He's a nice boy, friendly to strangers. His old home gave him up because they found that he needs a big yard to run in. He wasn't happy even though he was getting a lot of walks and would go to the dog park. They said that his two draw backs are that he guards his food (he growls if people come near) and that he is a hunter, and so he follows scents and howls. Other than that, he's a very nice boy who loves being petted and hanging with his people. He loves being outdoors. He's fine with kids and big dogs. He's okay with little dogs as long as he can sniff them- otherwise he barks when he sees them coming. He is prey-driven and not recommended for cats or farm animals.
The shelter his family got him from did extensive health testing on him. His blood tests were fine. They removed a benign tumor. They found he had mild tartar.
